So I was looking the other day for a house in my area, and found out that it's not as easy as I thought to buy a house. First of all, it looks like there's a lot of overpriced properties. That said, there's also plenty of very reasonably-priced places, if you know where to look.

Also, of course, in order to sell my house I have to put together loads and loads of paperwork for the prospective buyers.

I'm still considering the move. I'd like to do it, especially if I can downsize a little. I guess we'll have to see.

It's hard to know what's a good deal with a new house. After a lot of searching, I'm still not sure. I recommend seeking advice, at the verty least from people you know who have been through the process.

It always seemed to me like a huge hassle trying to move house. Luckily, I got a really helpful mortgage advisor, which alleviated some of my worries. I was under a bit of a time constraint, though, since I'd already (stupidly) given in my notice to my landlord, so I had six weeks to complete the move, which I'd heard was the average.

The solicitor was dragging her feet a little, but we got there in the end. To the day, in fact! We were moving the same day that the lease expired, so that was pretty good timing. Not a penny in rent wasted, I suppose!
